(Levi's Adventure in Germany continues…)

I really didn't expect the German Federal Police to show up at the door as soon as I hung up the phone. I really didn't expect to be arrested either. I thought I was doing the right thing. This stuff in the cave was obviously not mine (or Max's for that matter), so I thought reporting finding it was the right thing to do. Pop, If I ever tell you I'm doing something because it's the right thing to do, stop me.

First problem was explaining how I came to be looking for this place in the first place. "My grandfather, who I've never actually met because he'd been missing for 23 years, sent me the map coordinates." Yeah, that went over really well.

I had no explanation to use for why the property was in my name (especially since it had been in my name for 30 years before I was born!).

Oh, yeah, and like I had any idea where all that friggin' gold came from. Or the WWII era automatic weapons and ammunition.

These guys acted like they'd found Hitler himself. At least they admitted I didn't LOOK like your typical Nazi.

They searched the cave and found that until Fishbone and I were there, the place had been sealed up since around 1945. They also found a letter among all the stuff. It was a letter to me, from Max.

Dear Levi,

I really hope you find this place before the assholes that built it do. Although I don't know you, as Jesse's son, I'm sure you'd do more good with this than Nazis would.

I'm sorry I left before I got a chance to meet you. Actually, you're not even born yet.

Your grandfather,

Max MarxLennon

Oh, great. I mean, it's a nice letter, but I can't explain that. Max would have been 13 in 1945. You weren't born until 1952. The police wanted to know all about Max, all about you, all about Mom, all about Tony. And of course I had to go into the whole story explaining why it was that a white guy and an oriental woman created a black son.

ANYWAY, they have finally decided that I'm not part of some neo-Nazi group set on overthrowing their government. They've decided I'm not some kind of spy from the former Soviet Union.

They really don't know what to make of it all, but they've confiscated everything and I have another 48 hours to get out of Germany and never return. I've got a flight to London all set up.

POP, DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
