Dear Jesse,
Well, I guess it's been awhile, huh? Old Max just kind of slipped out of sight on you didn't he? Well, I'm back now.
I really don't expect you to take my word for it, but it's been one hell of a trip. Time travel is an amazing thing, but I'll tell you, it's a bitch trying to pack for it.
I've got a lot to tell you about, stories I know you'll like. I really think you'll like the story about me and Odysseus.
However, I think I should tell you about this first...
I ended up spending a very long time in the early 1800's. Actually, that's where I spent nearly all of it. The time machine worked great, but I wasn't too careful with it. Hell, you remember how bad I was on the cars.
Anyway, after spending some time in ancient Greece, I ended up in New York City, in 1855. I met this wonderful woman named Joyce and, well...
How do I tell you this? Jesse you have a sister. An older sister. Yeah, since she was born in 1857 that makes her about 95 years older than you. Actually that makes her older than Grandpa Gunther.
Her name is, well, was, Bonnie Parker MarxLennon. She is/was a lovely girl, very pretty, very smart. You would have liked her, Jesse. Bonnie has/had a beautiful voice, she loves/loved to sing. I taught her all those old Dylan tunes I liked so much. "Don't Think Twice" is/was her favorite.
Bonnie was just 18 when I had to leave. She'd been dating this nice fellow in the Army, the Calvary. They talked about moving West. I liked him. His brother was some hot shot in the Army. His name was Tom Something. Nice guy.
I ended up in Europe in the 1940's after that, just as the War was ending. That was a strange experience I'll need to tell you about.
But I'm back now and looking forward to finally meeting your family. You're married to Chrissy now, right? I always liked her.
That's all for now.
Love,
Max
